Week 2

The second week started with a meeting with Sophie Blout, the executive producer of stratford college does children in need show. She was basically giving us the low down on everything she new was going on, what might be happening and ideas. This lesson was a bit of a brainstorm just throwing other ideas round and expanding on them. She needed people to do other jobs such as creating bumpers, opening titles etc, basically jobs which reqiured a relatively decent amount of expierience in editing. As a tv group we got together in a lesson and brainstormed all our ideas for the tasters and for the final show. We went through and decided as a group what ideas were feasable and entertaining and kept about 8 - 9 ideas and scrapped all the rest. Other things we decided were ideas for set design, other job roles, people edned up with multiple job roles such as ian would manage floor managing and lighting.
The radio group have also approached our group with a proposal for making a live lounge spoof for their radio show, i took this job on as director whilst ben gibbs produced and got the bands in for the show, i immediatly took time to start preparing for the bands coming in since i had never directed and crew for a band performance, so i had to think about lighting, camera movements, my crew, how i was going to communicate with my crew when the band were playing.
Since i opted for making bumpers i realised i had to learn how to use different editing software, the one software i started using was motion, this is an editing software which is really ideal for making a opening/closing title and bumper. This is because you can really transform the way different images act on the video made from the bumper. there are also fireworks and sparkling effects which i can insert and then turn 3D.
