Monday was the next rehearsal of never mind fuzzcocks and it went much better then the previous rehearsals. As usual with our group it took a long time to set everything up but when we got started we did a run through and realised the camera men were taking to long getting their shots and being to gentle, they needed to realise that as long as i wasnt focused on their camera with the vision mixing desk then they could be a little more reckless with how they moved the camera. On my part with the vision mixing it was relatively simple apart from not having accurate timings or come in an out of vt's with. The contestants were much better this time, im glad i swapped myself with richard because he really does add a sense of humour to the show.
Other issues were timings as i said earlier, vt;s needed to be shortened because at the moment the vt's as part of round one were 30 seconds long and it didnt work at all so they are going to shortened to 10 seconds.
Tuesday came and we were in a meeting with the HND 2's, we confirmed the crew list for never mind the fuzzcocks and talked about who would be able to make it in for saturday the 6th when the BBC came in. We then moved on to talk about our taster programmes, we had worked a little towards it but hadn't even rehearsed it yet. All content which was ready for the taster was put together, this included the first aster cd including the performance from Pegasus Bridge with the track ribena and then laster on on with the track yoko and an interview with rich and lisa. Other content included a previous episode of never mind the fuzzcocks. This works well because the taster is a way of showing how we are moving the bar up with the next children in need show. Since we were doing never mind the fuzzcocks on the saturday where the BBC come in and we want to be able to show them how good/proffesional we can be. We needed to keep changing the qeustions being used otherwise when it come to the final recording it wouldbt be very good as it would have been over rehearsed and really stale. Me and matt worked on the opening titles for never mind the fuzzcocks, i filmed while matt olrenshaw edited it, we used the idea off the actual show where the titles show vinyls being smashed off the floor and different instruments in stage where there is a band set up with out the members. By this ours didnt have vinyls being smashed but it had pans around different instruments and selected video clips out of the bands i recorded/directed. We rehearsed never mind the fuzzcocks again on the friday to make 100% sure that we were ready to record it in front of the BBC.
Saturday had finally arrived and everyone was rearing for everything to be perfect, my job as usual was to vision mix, hair spray came in and we immediatly started micing them up and then got on with rehearsing their dances straight away, the rehearsals only got better we experimented alot with the shots and me and matt seemed to be on the same wavelentgh so we both wanted the show to look the same meaning their wasnt any conflict between our visions of what we thought it should look like. The BBC also seemed impressed, they did alot of filming of me and matt being messed around with by pudsey bear and seemed happy with how we reacted around pudsey bear. After hairspray we filmed the choir which was a bit of a wind down from having the BBC in and filming hairspray but this went well. I really enjoyed vision mixing for hairspray, i felt that going with the mood of the show helped me chose went to cut to another camera and which camera i decided to cut to.
