Week 4

Its now reading week so its actually our week off but ive came in because i had arranged to film the band faded cadence and stake out plus on monday morning i was a camera operator for the cooking programme which was produced by melissa, this was pretty easy since the shot i had was kept mostly static but i occasionally had to zoom in so that i could get 3 shots and shots which would focus on hand movements and changes made to the item of food being made. This seemed to be going well untill we couldnt get the oven to work and then ended up buying a cake/cakes from morrisons which the item supposed to be being made would look like.
Faded Cadence came in at about 12:00 on monday which was ealier then we were expecting them, but luckily they were pateint and didn't mind waiting in costa while we finished setting up the studio for their performance. Having recorded and directed the performance of pegasus bridge on friday afternoon i felt confident to direct this performance. It went well we did 2 run through, an interview and 1 instrumental of the band, it took a while to set the shots up for the interview, we sorted it out and it was simple, camera 1 got close ups of the band members, camera 3 was on a close up of the presenters and then camera 2 was on a tight wide shot of everyone together.
The last band to film was stakeout, the reason we got to film this band was because Ben played the keys in this band. This went relatively well, in this performance we managed to move camera 1 up alongside the left side of the studio and could get a good close up of the drummer whilst camera 3 would got a shot of all the vocalists in a line from their side. For the interview we used the same shots in which we used for faded cadence. The problems we found that the bands had when they were recorded was that they couldnt hear themselves back but there is nothing we could do about this.
